Transit

Hogwarts Express

The train that takes the entitled brats to the boarding school where they'll be whipped into shape and summarily executed-- I mean taught all that they need to know about magic to get a menial-labor job in the wizarding world-- and back home at Platform 9 3/4 in mostly one piece. The passenger carts on the train are comprised of a narrow hallway with compartments (with doors) on each side. Prefects get their own separate compartment at the front of the train that they can relax in when they aren't patrolling the train and making sure that none of the brats are getting too rowdy. A trolley laden with sweets rolls through the train during the trip, and students may purchase candy from it. The train is run entirely on magic, yet, there never seem to be enough compartments for those who wish to sit alone (perhaps on purpose).

Corridors

cor·ri·dor [kawr-i-der, -dawr, kor-] noun A narrow hallway, passageway, or gallery, often with rooms or apartments opening onto it. Lots of chicanery, romantic interactions (not woohooing hopefully), and dumb things happen in the hallways of Hogwarts. The Viaduct counts as a corridor, by the way. There are a lot of corridors and stairways, so be a decent muggle and put where the topic is taking place, will ya? The caretaker will be on your back otherwise.

Grand Staircase

This is the main staircase that connects the many floors of Hogwarts. The stairs like moving around while the students are on the stairs, presumably out of frustration that it has to do unpaid labor at every student's beck and call.

Hog's Head Inn

One of those really shady pubs that you feel like your mother warned you about when you first got the right to drink (you are of legal drinking age, right?). The bar is a dusty, small room with rough wooden tables and naked candles melted onto the table and windows so dirty you can hardly see through them, and the inn itself isn't much better. All sorts of sketchy and illegitimate activities happen here.

Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop

This is the perfect place to take your date for a nice cuppa. Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop is a small tea shop that also serves coffee. A little bell chimes merrily when the door is opened to reveal a room crowded with small round tables decorated with lacy napkins and china sugar bowls with two chairs set around each table. Unfortunately, the numerous tables are often all occupied by teenage couples holding hands or kissing.

The Shrieking Shack

The most haunted building in Britain, this abandoned house in Hogsmeade has been the source of shrieks (hence the name, dummy) and screams. Not even the Hogwarts ghosts will go inside. The doors and windows are all blocked and boarded up, so entry isn't possible. There is a rumor that there is another way inside, however.
